Girl Scouts of America is the world's largest organization dedicated to helping all girls everywhere build character and gain skills for success in the real world. In an accepting and nurturing environment, and in partnership with committed adult volunteers, girls develop strong values, leadership skills, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth that will serve them all their lives. Worldwide, there are over 80 Girl Scout Programs. A brief description of our program in Madrid, Spain is as follows: Brownie Troop 0009
Our troop is comprised of 1st, 2nd
and 3rd graders (ages 6-9). We meet on Friday afternoons
from 5:30 to 7 PM at the American School of Madrid, although our members
are from different schools around Madrid.
Our Brownie troop goals are: - To learn more about American culture and other cultures. - To make lasting friendships. - To be involved in our community. - To increase individual autonomy and responsibility.
Junior Girl Scouts Troop Our troop is comprised of 3rd, 4th and 5th graders (ages 9-10). We meet on Friday afternoons from 5:30 to 7 PM at the American School of Madrid, although our members are from different schools around Madrid Our Junior Girl Scout troop goals are: - To be involved in our community - To work to the best of our ability - To work on always respecting others - To make lasting friendships
Our Troop is made up of 5th, 6th and 7th graders (aged 10-13). This year, through Girl Scouts we went on a wonderful 4 day trip to London, where we stayed in the Girl Scout lodging (highly recommended!) and met Scouts from all over the world! We also carried out 15 hours of community service and did fun projects like making jewelry and lipgloss. Our Cadet Girl Scout troop goals are: - To be involved in our community - To work to the best of our ability - To work on always respecting others - To make lasting friendships Come join the fun! |
