Lower School Program

The Lower School program at ASM is based on our belief that an effective education for young children incorporates the principles of child development and recognizes the importance of developing attributes that will help the child succeed in school and in the future. For this reason, we have created a vision for the Lower School learner. Our vision is to help students become world citizens, thinkers, inquirers, communicators, and collaborators who are resourceful, persevering, and principled. From the earliest age in Kinder 1, our students are motivated to acquire a curiosity for learning and develop self-esteem as they become more independent both academically and socially. While ASM’s academic program is rigorous, our staffing model, use of technology as a learning tool, and teaching practices allow our teachers to effectively provide both enrichment and support for our diverse student body. Through guided interactions with their peers and specially designed units of study, our students begin to understand and appreciate the cultural richness of the world. The best educational programs are achieved when home and school are supportive of each other and communicate frequently. It is through this partnership that ASM students are prepared to meet the demands of the 21st Century.
