Admission Criteria

The American School of Madrid (ASM) welcomes applications from academically qualified students of all nationalities and cultures.

When offering places to students, the Admissions Committee prioritizes the following:
1. US citizens
2. Expatriate families
3. Alumni, siblings of current students
4. Families who have a need and desire for a college-preparatory program based on American standards and practices, culminating in an American and/or International Baccalaureate diploma.

Before filling in an application, parents with children who have special needs are asked to submit all pertinent documentation to ASM for the Admissions Commission to determine whether or not we can support those needs.

For their child to be admitted, parents must acknowledge they are aware of and support ASM’s Mission, DNA, DEIJ statement, and Learning Beliefs.

Applicants cannot be accepted as fully enrolled students until their transcripts and other requested documentation have been received by the Admissions Office.

ASM admits students of any race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded to students at the school. It does not discriminate based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, financial aid and scholarship programs, and other school-administered programs.

ASM reserves the right to accept or reject any application.
