Parent Lancers

The Parent Lancers is the school’s parent volunteer group. Its primary goal is to support ASM’s founding mission, philosophy, and programs.

Parent Lancers promote ASM’s community and the “we” feeling resulting in a stronger sense of school spirit and pride. Parents are a vital constituent of the ASM Community, and by helping out in the classrooms, library, sports fields, and at special events and activities, parents participate in giving ASM's students the best possible educational experience both inside and outside of the classroom.

Welcome Committee

WELCOME AND TRANSITIONS NEW FAMILIES

Moving to a new school, a new community, and a new culture can prove to be difficult at times. In an effort to better assist families as they arrive and transition to ASM, a group of returning parents have volunteered to be part of the Welcome Committee at school. Members of the Welcome Committee are the helping hands and the question-answerers! They can say, "Been there, done that!" They fully understand what new families are experiencing and are committed to helping them during this transition process. The Welcome Committee supports the September New Parent Welcome Coffee for parents, assists at the Orientation Day organized by the Admissions Office, and meets regularly to discuss other activities or opportunities that can help new families settle in quickly to make ASM and Madrid their new home.

Events Committee

SUPPORTS SCHOOL-WIDE EVENTS

The Events Committee assists in the planning and implementation of ASM school-wide social events which help promote a sense of unity among the school community. Volunteering at ASM not only makes events possible, but it also makes your experience much more enjoyable! For new families, volunteering is also a great way to meet people and get involved. The Events Committee, under the leadership of the Development Head & Community Liaison, will be responsible for the coordination of the school’s major social events.

Spirit Committee

BUILD SCHOOL SPIRIT

The Spirit Committee will help promote awareness of and involvement in ASM activities, school identity, and sports. They promote a positive community environment and a sense of unity in order to create the “we” feeling at school. They collect ideas of possible spirit initiatives that will assist to make spirit and learning visible and work to implement them throughout the school year.

Parent Lancer Series

SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE

ASM offers parent meetings throughout the year with speakers and topics of interest to provide learning opportunities for parents.

The Parent Lancer Series consists of a collection of sessions, talks, and workshops that provide an opportunity for our entire community to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of the parents at school, as well as from outside speakers and professionals. Presenters will offer a lecture-type talk or a more hands-on workshop, on a variety of topics, providing valuable additional educational support and strengthening the learning experience at ASM.

Sessions are free and open to ASM community members, parents, students, teachers, staff, and/or alumni depending on the topic and goal of each session. There is limited space available for each course, workshop, lecture, or activity offered through this program, therefore registration is required in order to guarantee your spot.
