When did you know you wanted to be a teacher?
After volunteering as a resource teacher at a high school, I knew I wanted to become an educator but in elementary school. My high school was a second chance program. Everyone in my program had dropped out of school previously and many hated school. I strived to make school a healthy and safe environment for them to want to come to and learn every day. I knew I wanted to do elementary to help kids to love learning before they got into the situation my high schoolers were in.
