Eva Fernandez
Upper School Science Teacher
What kind of student were you?
In Grade 9 my classmates gave me the nickname ¨little Einstein¨ because I was good at science. Then, in the following years, I was just average but the type of student that spent evenings helping out my friends with their homework over the telephone. I loved explaining!
When did you know you wanted to be a teacher?
Since I can remember. I always wanted to be a teacher. I used to play teaching to my toys and I had a big whiteboard in my bedroom.
What are your passions?
One of my biggest passions is dancing Lindy Hop. It is a jazz dance that was very popular during the swing era of the late 1930s. Luckily, in Madrid, there is a pretty big swing community and I can dance at least three times a week. One of the reasons that I moved back to Spain was lindy hop as it did not exist in Qatar where I used to live.
Imagine a day with no responsibilities, how would you spend it?
Dancing Lindy hop, reading a book, going on a hike with friends, learning how to play the ukulele, and also how to do magic tricks.
