Lower School Learning Commons
The Lower School Library is central to learning at ASM. The goal of the library program is to foster and develop a love of reading for all students and enable them to become critical thinkers who are effective and responsible users of ideas and information. We are committed to maintaining a current and relevant collection of print and electronic resources that support the needs and interests of students, staff and the community both at school and at home.
Library Time
All students in K1 to Grade 2 come for a weekly storytime or mini-lesson and to check out books. Students in Grades 3 to 5 come for weekly check-out and have information literacy instruction on an as-needed basis integrated into their classroom lessons.
Borrowing Guidelines
Borrowing limits are based on a student's grade level and may fluctuate and/or evolve over the course of the school year depending on curricular needs, school holidays, and a student's record of responsibility with library materials. Parents can request a library account and may check out up to 20 items at a time.
Volunteering
Our library welcomes parent volunteers to help with shelving, displays, and other tasks. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact us.
