ASM academic enrichment programs are designed to broaden the educational experience and attempts to increase proactive and active student involvement in learning both inside and outside the classroom
The Upper School elects a Student Council composed of representatives from each class in grades 9-12. Among other activities, the Student Council assists with the orientation of new students to ASM, have a back to school event called “Sancho Showdown”, the annual Halloween Carnival. Additionally each year the Student Council supports a chosen charity through both fundraising and service activities.
The Council meets regularly to discuss school-wide issues of concern to students. Its mission is to function as a coordinating organization in those aspects of student life which involve the entire Upper School. It has special missions to promote service-oriented activities within the Upper School and to serve as a liaison between the student body and the faculty/administration of the School.
ASM Is a member of the National Honor Society (NHS), which is a service organization. Inductions are held in the fall and, as appropriate, in the spring. Students are selected on the basis of strong scholarship and outstanding character, service, and leadership. ASM also has the honor of having one of the few European chapters of the prestigious Cum Laude Honor Society.
This program is a service organization, for students in grades 6-12, that strives to develop mature, service-minded young students who are positive school representatives and volunteer their free time to community service.
